Brown spotting and scan showing healthy bub @ 7 weeks?

Hi,

So I have had brown spotting for over a week. Had my scan on Friday and showed a healthy 1cm bub with a heart rate of 131 bpm. She said everything looks great!
Ovaries are perfect even after having years of cysts.
The sack was perfect and no cause for worry she told us.

So my question is, where is the spotting coming from? I'm still really nervous and hoping to get another scan booked in 2 weeks.
Could it be an infection?

I have also had the flu, severe MS and lost 3.5 kg in 3 days.

I dont know about where the beeding comes from, alot of times it can be completly normal. I know there are lots of reasons for the blood. Congrats on your great scan and I hope it stops for you soon.
I had a bleed with my DS3 and he is now nearly 3!.

With my first missed m/c I never bled, at all. If it wasn't for 'that' bad NT scan at 13 weeks, i'd never have known.
When I fell pregnant with Harper 3 months post-D&C I bled every 2 weeks until I hit 12/13 weeks (with cramps I might add). It was put down to my uterus expanding-scans showed a healthy growing baby and a strong heartbeat. Major meltdowns and tears during the first trimester needless to say. Harper is a spirited little girl, healthy, happy and smart as a button.

When Harper was 6months, I fell pregnant unexpectedley with Chevy. I didn't know I was pregnant with him until just before the second trimester. I'd had bright red periods (no clots) and was none the wiser. Turned out, at our first scan with him, that he was/had started as a mulitple (twin) pregnancy that had failed to thrive, and yet again another missed m/c was diagnosed. Strangely, my reaction/s to these are very different. You've seen Chevy-Bear, he's VERY healthy now

I suppose i'm just trying to relieve your concern just a little, hopefully. The odds are WITH you, like we all are. Bleeding early on is normal, but you know that.
FWIW: I LOATHE the first trimester just for this very reason.......its like pass the parcel-am I gonna get the prize, or not?!
Until this baby is safe in your arms though, you'll worry, just take care of yourself during the process.

I had spotting this pregnancy at 9 weeks. I had a speculum done and it was coming from my cervix, it was a little irritated even though i refused to DTD until after 12 weeks when i knew it was a sticky bub! So was a big mystery but turned out to be nothing.

Easier said than done but try rest and relax

I had brown spotting with DS1 early on, and he was fine - freaked me out though. Had a really big bleed at 9.5 weeks with DS2 and he was fine also. The odds are good that your little one will be fine.

I guess its just a waiting game

I find that I am just stressing over everything! If I dont have enough MS, my skin isn't covered in pimples anymore, not peeing enough etc etc.
Really I do just need to relax.
Not sure what is causing it but I am booked in for an app with my gp on Thursday so I will get some urine samples done and get another scan booked in for next week.

I had bleeding with DD2 a couple of times and they put it down to constipation putting pressure on the wrong place and causing a bleed. It seems your baby has a healthy heartbeat, that is a great sign.

I'm sure your little bubba is perfectly content in there. Please try not to stress out Symptoms come and go and everything is pointing to your little one being a healthy happy bubba, nice scan, nice strong heartbeat and perfect sac - all those things are very encouraging

On a side note: I had PCOS before I fell pregnant with DS and then they disappeared as well great hey!

I had this with DS1 (who is now 7 1/2!). My ob told me that I had a clot in the uterine lining that was coming away. In fact I was even shown where it was on the scan although I wouldn't have recognised it if I hadn't been told. Quite common apparently and as long as the blood is brown there is nothing to worry about. From memory the bleeding lasted about a week and then stopped.
