    Can I eat bacon

    Hello

I am in my first trimester and my husband makes a great creamy mushroom and bacon pasta. I have a massive craving for it at the moment but am I allowed to eat bacon?

    Thanks
    Jem

If you want ham, get the organic stuff, the normal stuff has high levels of nitrate in it. My GP told me to stay well away from any pork products.

I haven't been told to stay away from bacon. Have eaten it through two healthy pregnancys and am do so with this one too. I guess if it comes from the deli just check how long its been sitting in the window.

I have eaten bacon through both of my pregnancies. I think it is generally the uncooked meats that you need to stay away from. So long as the bacon has been cooked in the process, it should be fine !

I have to have my bacon on the weekends. I have had no trouble with my other pregnancies when eating bacon.

With my last pregnancy, All through the second trimester, I craved bacon for breckfast lunch and dinner... yum yum... And I ate lots of it, naughty I know, but it was my weekness. And my bubs is 100% healthy...
