Well I am a vegetarian but I used to eat meat and sometimes still crave it so perhaps there is a way you can substitute so you fill the craving but dont get the ms. IYKWIM.
Just for example we eat hamburgers but will put potato scallops in instead of the meat - wow really good!
I know how you feel though. I went off a lot of my normal foods when I had morning sickness. Its awful isnt it?!?

I went off it for 5 months with my first pregnancy. So many tears as all I wanted was a well cooked steak which I would get DH to do then I would cry when I took the first bite

I went off it for a few weeks with my last pregnancy but it didn't last long

I went off meat for the 1st 3mths, as much as I love the smell of steak normally.....then it made me so sick! I craved salad and fresh fruit throughout most of my pregnancy (& icecream )

Jen, I haven't gone off meat, but I am frustrated too, as I have gone of sweets... chocolate, ice cream, strawberries and cream lollies, freckles!!!!! all make my stomach turn... I had a teary yesterday (hormones, aren't they lovely!) because I am off coffee as well, so wanted a chocolate milk in the morning instead, and almost lost my breakfast. WAAH! I want chocolate!

So even though I'm not off meat, I so hear you! Wish my Bubble liked chocolate!

Yep, I've started to go off meat too I'm having a little trouble walking into the butchers when I do the weekly shopping, so I think DH will be doing that soon too.

Might have to try Macca's next week when Iam near one. I just can't stand the smell of those gherkins! Yuck!!

Yay, i was just about to start a thread about this when i looged in, and saw you all have the same prob.
I am totally going off red meat( it just dont taste right at all), and also tea or coffee, instead im drinking apple juice all the time.
I noticed that someone else said they went of meat with DD, everyone i ask lately about it, they all say they went off it (coincidently???) WHEN PREGNANT WITH THEIR GIRLS!!!!!

I wonder if there is a link btween going off red meat and the sex of the baby hmmmm.

anyways just thought i would say, im right there with you babes.

Well, I am very sorry to say (I'm not kidding here, I really am!!) that I am the opposite!!

I was vegan before I became PG then I suddenly wanted nothing but milk & cheese which in the last couple of months has moved up to meat, meat, meat!! I still can't get enough milk (went shopping yesterday & bought 2 x 3l bottles - 1 is already half empty!!) but I have totally gone off EVERYTHING I used to eat. No tofu, no veggie stir frys, no falafel... just the thought makes me want to be sick! And when I think of things I DO want to eat, they all involve meat of some description!

I have my fingers crossed that I 'go back to normal' after the birth, or can atleast manage being vegetarian if not vegan again so soon.

Oh, Georgette - I am having a girl so I put a spanner in your 'no meat = girl' theory... sorry!! :P

I am having so many issues with eating! I am 11w and I can't stand the thought of any food in general. For the most part I am vegeterian and have totally gone off vegies. About the only thing that goes down OK is fruit. I am crossing my fingers that this will subside soon, because it would be nice to want to eat something!!

I couldn't stand the smell of Lamb! I couldn't have it through out my whole pregnancy but was ok as soon as DD was born, LOL.

Also while I had m/s (from weeks 8-17) I couldn't stand any food cooking smells. I especially disliked the smell of veges cooking.

Pregnancy hormones certainly do strange things!
