    CVS and Amnio Tests

Maybe I shouldn't be reading too far ahead,

I have done some reading on the above two tests and am wondering if they HAVE to be done. I am really bad with needles (ie throwing up and fainting) and have quite a low pain threshold (despite having 5 tatts )

I know what they do and the reasons people have them done, I guess I am looking for some first hand experience on how others have been with either or both of these tests.

I am 31 yrs and in good health.

    Thanks all

Is there a reason why you it would be recommended to have these tests? I am 33 and just had my second child and have not had either of them. I think mostly people have them after recieving an increased likelihood of some kind of abnormality.

Hi there, I'm almost 37 and have never had either of these tests. As far as I know you would only be faced with the decision of having them if your 12 week nuchal translucency scan and blood test came back as high risk.

    Hi Nae,

I wouldn't worry about any of these tests unless they say you need to have one of them.

I had a amnio done with my last pregnancy. But my results from the 12wks scan came back high risk.

    Thanks Ladies -

Phew~Sometimes information can be a bad thing hahahahahaha. I just wasn't sure what the norm was and when you type prenatal into google to find out whats involved etc it comes up with lots of that info.
