Catmommy - what do you mean by irregular heartbeat? what was the heartbeat? re being behind in LMP I was behind by 5-6 days when I was about 10 weeks and have caught up now. See what they say at your next scan and your HCG results.. Its great they found a heartbeat did he say that the sac the baby is growing in looked normal? When I m/c they said my baby size wasnt a good size in comparison with the sac. Best wishes, I am thinking of you.
Bel, The heartbeat was seen but it was too irregular to get a rate. The dr. said he wasn't as concerned with that because it was still early and irregular heartbeats aren't uncommon. It's the 10 day lag with no explaination that he's concerned about. I supppose if there were only a 5 day lag it wouldn't have been a big deal. He told me at the end of the u/s that he saw what he needed to see: 1. The baby 2. The heartbeat. He said there are a couple red flags and the most concerning again is the dates. I'm wondering if my charting could have been off meaning I had a thermal shift indicating O but didn't O until a few days later? DH and I had sex the two days prior and day of what I thought to be Ovulation day. Any sex we had after was waaay to far out of my fertile time period to be considered. I know I'm phsychoanalyzing but I'm afraid and grasping for answers.

Was the heartbeat SLOW? or was it in normal limits but all over the place?
Also, an ultrasound is only a diagnostic tool. When we look at scans we say they can be 7 days out, either way.
Are you going to have another scan soon?
