Does this sound right? - I wish I didn't have to worry!

According to my LMP yesterday I should have been 6 weeks 5 days. When I went for my viability u/s the lady (who wasn't very communicative) said it was healthy - but too early too hear heartbeat. I saw the measurements on the screen - sac and baby measured at 6 weeks 1 day. We could see the heart beat and kind of hear it but it was too little she said to measure so baby must be around 5 weeks.

Does this sound right? I saw the measurements so I don't mind being a few days behind - I know this is normal but to say around 5 weeks well that seems wrong. Anyone had the same experience? She said I would have to go back for another scan in couple of weeks.

I have had no bleeding this time, or cramps and I am feeling terrible!

This sounds normal. I had it explained to me that you might know your LMP but the egg might have taken longer to get down the tube. There are all sorts of reasons for it being out.

I said my LMP was 20/10 (this is as close an estimation I could think of), which would mean I am 15+ weeks. But in my amnio today the baby is only 14 weeks old, so I'm out by quite a bit without meaning to be so.

Jordie, I don't think you have anything to worry about. But that is my non-medical opinion, which I like to give regularly.

if the sonographer wasnt worried i wouldnt either, dont forget babies can grow at different rates, u were a week behind what u thought this time and maybe next scan you'll be a week ahead of what u thought!!

    dont stress to much

Seems to be a pretty normal occurance Jordie,
My LMP had me due 30/7 which I knew was at least a week out cos I have 35 day cycles and personally I thought 7/8 was about right - only to find out at my dating scan the EDD was 13/8
Plus jellybean was only just big enough to get a heartbeat - and slow at that - which is apparently what really little fetuses have before their heart rate picks up at about 6 weeks.
Embrace the later EDD honey - less likely they'll induce you for being 'overdue'!
