    Dreams about gender... accurate?

So I have been having some really 'out there' dreams. and they are SO vivid and specific!!!!!! It is amazing!

Last night was the first time I dreamed that I had the baby. And he was a beautiful liitle boy. But I kept dropping him, and he kept sliding out the pram, and he no clothes, and I was frantically running around Kmart trying to find something blue for him, but they were trying to chuck me out cos it was closing time.... and my BF wasnt helping cos she just wanted to go to the tv section to watch 'survivor'...

    but anyway....

did you dream about your babies gender, was it always the same gender, and was it accurate? (before finding out at all)

What a funny dream! I had lots of bizarre dreams with both pregnancies.

When pg with DS1 before I found out his gender I had a dream he was a girl! Definitely not accurate for me LOL!

I *KNEW* Jazz was a girl, I was having girl dreams the night before my BFP! I just knew, I never ever had a feeling she was a boy, even though that was what I was hoping for initally.

Pregnancy dreams are CRAZY though aren't they! I've never dreamt anything so realistic except while pregnant!

i've always dreamt a LOT, but while i've been pregnant i've only dreamt that the baby is a girl - at the NT scan we had a look between the legs and def looks like a boy so I wasn't right!

I think the fact my partner has 2 boys already made me subconsciously want a girl so i dreamt it.

I dreamt girl. My DF dreamt boy. His dream was right.

I also felt it was a girl. It was only after we had the amnio results of boy that I realised the reason behind me being continually drawn to the racks of boy bubby clothes. I couldn't understand why I kept looking at them when I was so sure it was a girl. I was so shocked when I got the amnio result.

I have had about 4 rather specific dreams this pregnancy that the bay is clearly a girl but Im having a boy. These dreams have put some doubt in my mind about the gender being correct but the only Baby dreams I have had have been this 4 saying baby is a girl.

I will find out in the next week or so...

I'd say dreams about gender are right about half the time

I have looked into this before and it seems fairly standard dream analysis, that if you (the mother) dream of one gender, it means its the other. Ie; dream a girl = your having a boy, verse visa.
I think that lines up with a bit of what your replies have said so far though Im sure its not always right.

I had many dreams about Matthew and he was always a boy (I was even dreaming about him before I was TTC), my dreams about him were so vivid, especially one where he was about 18 months old and he looks exactly like he did in my dreams.

While I was pregnant with Adrian I did have a dream that I was holding a baby boy of about 5 months and Matthew was toddling around.

With DD1 I dreamt I was having a girl even before I knew I was pregnant, I also dreamt the birth date and got both right. With DD2 unfortunately I did not have any gender dreams, it was only as I was about to have her that I knew she was a girl.

I just remembered I had a dream before I knew I was UTD with this pregnancy, I dreamt I had my baby via c/sec and DH grabbed the baby as it was being lifted out and it happened to be a girl, it was so vivid, she was covered in blood and still curled up.

While pg I had two VERY vivid and crazy dreams where my DS was a boy (we didn't find out the gender!). In fact, the second one was sooooo bizarre, I won't tell the whole story here, but it basically invovled my newborn boy being in a nursery of sorts, and going to collect him with my DH (after I realised that I'd left the hospital without him LOL). As it turned out, my DS was 5 weeks prem and did go to special care!

Anyway, those two dreams (amongst all the other crazy ones ) left me fairly sure that we were having a boy.

With My 1st i had dreams about having a boy but always felt like i was having a girl as mum had 4 girls and everyone said i would have girls too. All my dreams were always bad stuff. i remember having dreams like dropping the baby, pushing the pram to the car and while opening the door the pram would roll down the hill. i could never see a face but just blue clothes.

Second time i had all girl dreams but thought i'd have another boy. My dreams were bad. I dreamt that we were off to the US and we had an accident... If i dreamt i was driving when we crashed i'd make sure DP drove or vice versa. Every day i drove to work i'd freak out that i was going to crash cos i kept having this crazy dream that some ran up the back of me really hard and i climb out of the car to yell at the guy and when i get out blood runs down my legs and i get this bad pain and i'd be yelling ... Help help my baby please help my baby...

Had that dream for weeks til i started seeing my in the back of the car with DP driving like crazy and all of a sudden pop out comes a fully clothes baby girl... HAHA yeah right... POP.....

After weeks of that one it was like the sequel to my car accident i'd be in the hossy and they'd be telling me my baby girl was born by CS but there were complications...the doc would be in soon to tell me...

Then the week after i was due i had dreams that i was holding my baby girl just after delivery and she was so slippery i couldnt get hold and she kept slipping and i kept dropping her.

So in my case my senses were wrong but dreams were right

I have dreamt the correct gender for 3 of my 4 babies and I only found out the gender with my last one (I dreamt boy and it was right). The only one I didn't get was with my third - I kept having dreams about both genders and she was a girl.

With DS (my first baby), I remember when I was around 12 weeks I had a dream and woke up the next day certain he was a boy. The funny thing is, the dream wasn't about babies or me being pregnant or being in labour or anything like that. I can't remember what it was about, but I woke up the next day just knowing that I was having a boy. I was right of course, but didn't find out until he was born. The next two I had no gender dreams - I was uncertain with DD1 right up until she was born. DD2 I was sure was a boy until the ultrasound showed otherwise!
