Is this early spd or normal back pain?

    Hi guys,

I'm 12 weeks with my first baby and for the last month or so I've been getting sharp bouts of pain that shoot through my lower back in different spots...is this early signs of spd? Has anyone else experienced similar pains and have it not lead to spd? I'm terrified of spd!

I usually get the pains while bending over or sitting in a position where my lower back isn't supported properly...like there's the ordinary back pain I get then there's these sharp shoots of pain...I also get shoots of pain through what I assume is the tip of my pelvis (or joint?) in my bum...like that bone part you can feel if you press into your bum.

i used to get that in my other pregnancies although i thought it was a bit later in my pregnancy..i used to get the shooting pain in my bum, later on in the pregnancy with my belly and pregnancy weight i had trouble with my hips, rolling over etc..it was quiet painful and they suggested a belly belt...

Hope you find out what it is..

Do you mean you are having sciatic pain in your butt? Because that can be the start of spd.

It's not occurring as often in my bum as it is in my lower back, or sort of between where my bum and lower back meet...I suppose you could say it's the top of my bum...

Thanks melster I think I'll ask my midwife about it so that if it does turn out to be spd I can start managing it early on.
