I jsut wanted to let you know that I felt the same way, before I knew that I was pregnant I had a massive weekend away with DP at a winery and had sampled quite alot of wines,, I had the flu and sinus so was taking codrals and nurofen and I was eating foods that i didnt know were bad, becasue I didnt know I was pregnant.
My doctor told me that the baby is very resilient in the first couple of months and that I shouldnt worry, plenty of people dont realise they are prengnant for a couple of months or even more and they have produced perfectly healthy babies.
It is good now that you aware of different foods to avoid, one thing that is also important is that you dont stress.
P.s. If it makes you feel better, I had no idea that you were suppose to avoid lettuce when pregnant, I have eaten it my whole pregnancy but have not had a problem, so like Trish said, they do say to avoid foods but it doesnt mean that the foods are dangerous, its just how they are prepared or kept.
