I am 5w4d pregnant and extremely bloated. A couple of pairs of pants are already uncomfortably tight and you can clearly see my "bump" when I wear certain tops.
Im really worried Im not going to be able to hide this much longer and Im going to have to tell people much earlier than planned.
Last time I gained weight all over in the first few months. This time its all belly. I really need someone to tell me this happened to them and the bloating settled down.
Also, is this a good sign Im going to be a whale in a few months time, or will that space fill with baby and I shouldnt get too huge?
Reading that back, I sound ridiculous. But Im stressing! So not ready for most people to know!!!
I got really bloated with my DD. I felt huge & couldn't do up my pants... But honestly I think you feel much bigger then you actually look. Wear some floaty tops. Hopefully there will be a cold snap and you can bring out some scarfs
Same here, it did settle though. Just avoid the clothes that show it and be ready with a " I had KFC and I always regret it after, leaves me so bloated" line
I don't own a single dress. LOL I lived in Brisbane and start sweating at the thought of a sleeved shirt on a cool day. I usually live in sleepless tops and singlets. Will just have to suffer a bit I guess. Or go shopping lol!
Go with the loose and flowy tops. You'll use them now, and after baby is born, so they won't be a "waste" for just a few weeks. Some styles might carry well into your pregnancy too. I bloated pretty badly with some of my babies, not so much with others. And I didn't get any bigger in the long run - just popped a little earlier. Don't worry too much about that yet.
All the best!
I had that with DD2 as well. Maybe get some looser singlet dresses for the heat? I went with the I think I have irritable bowel or something as I am so bloated approach if people looked at me
YEp, second time round most people knew I was pregnant before we announced it at 12 weeks. I did end up HUGE though. My fundal height was 49cms at 36 weeks pregnant. I had over 3 litres of fluid drained from me during my C-section. Fun times. Hoping I'm not huge next time we have a baby, but I'm not holding out much hope
Most people are polite enough not to comment when they see you looking a bit bigger, so I wouldn't worry about 'having' to tell people sooner. And if it is bloatedness, not actual baby, I was advised by my FS to eat lots of protein when I got very bloated after embryo transfer. I added a glass of sustagen to my diet, reduced my carbs for a bit and made all my snacks protein-based - peanut butter, nuts, cheese, etc.
Yeh they are polite. I looked pg yesterday at my nieces party. But they might chalk it up to me chunking up. And then when I tell them I'm pg, they'll be like I thought so blah blah blah. Thought you looked it but didn't want you to think I thought you were fat etc.
But honestly calluna, yours is nothing. You should see my belly bloated lol. But I wasn't as thin as you prior lol.
