    Thumbs down Extremely sore back

I'm just wondering, if it is normal to have a really sore back as early in pg as I am? (13 1/2 wks).

my back is absolutely killing me. i can hardly move when i get out of bed or getting up from sitting down. No matter what position i am in, it just won't stop hurting.. i feel like i'm about 120 years old lol..

anyone else feel like this? just worried, if i feel like this now, how am i gonna feel later on in my pg?? very scary..

do you usually have back probs?
i do and i got back pain quite early, i went to physio for some exercises and i also find swimming really helps - mine is worse if i sit downfor too long or walk aroundall day. i use a wheat pack too which helps a lot.
my ob told me to take panadol, panaforte if i need it - it is safe during prg (no nurofen etc though)
    hope that helps!!

I have a bad back and with number two my back was UNBEARABLE by 12 weeks. I started seeing my chiro 3 times a week and by about 20 weeks my back was painfree (eventually got down to monthly visits). I absolutely swear that seeing my chiro helped me have an hour 54 labour. I believe I was in such good shape from my adjustments that coco slid out!! (still damn painful...). My chiro uses a gun type thing, no cracking or anything like that, very gentle. Good luck xo

    Hi Sirenz,

I do! The other day i simply sat up in bed and got a sharp shooting pain up my back, and for the following 3 days if i put any pressure on my right leg, whether walking or lying on it funny i was in agony! Then it kind of subsided, but now if i sit down too long or lie on my back too long i have to roll onto my side, but i think its a normal preg thing!

Apparently its the hormones but, if its really concerning you ask your doctor about it... that's what i'll be doing at my next appointment!

    Hope it gets better

I had really bad pain low down in my back, mainly when getting up from sitting down, was told by doc that the pain was my pelvic bones separating in preparation for childbirth, even quite early in pregnancy.

Sirenz, hope you manage to get some relief!
I suffered with a sore back in second trimester last time but could I stongly suggest that all you pregnant ladies be really careful with your backs in the coming weeks. You will be feeling fine and all and then one minute "WHAM" you will start getting sore because you have just done what you have always done - rolled over in bed quickly, leant over your chair to pick something up, got out of the car awkwardly - something that has never hurt you before. Problem is you will may not FEEL like you are big and carrying extra stuff out front until you hurt yourself. My advice is start being careful with yourselves and your movements NOW (ok, don't act like an invalid or anything LOL!) by thinking about your back when you sit and lean over, and be real careful of twisting movements. I know I hurt my back real bad just from hoiking my big gut around in bed and not being careful. I sure will be careful this time, I tell ya!!

    Thanks for the advice Rory!

I, like the rest of you lovely ladies, have also had lower back pain the last week or so. I also get it just behind my hips (which I guess is still technically my lower back - but not in the middle!).
