First scan tomorrow at 6w6d - what to expect?

Hi Everybody,

Have my first scan tomorrow at 6w6d and hoping to hear a heart beat.

What can I expect?

I think we're pretty spot on with dates, and my bloodwork supports the EDD. We used ovulation tests so we knew when to do everything, so I can't see how we would be too far out with dates.

What do you think I can expect tomorrow at 6w6d? When did you have your first scan, and did you hear a heartbeat?

My first scan was at 10 weeks with the OB at our first appointment. I saw a little blob who had a tiny little heart which looked like dot flickering on the screen. Was great to see it finally confirmed after weeks of not being sure.

Hearing the heart was great too. Sounds so loud when they put it on the speaker for you to hear. I didn't hear the heartbeat until 12 weeks.

I had my first scan at 6wks 3days (although I thought I was 7wks). It was an internal scan.

It showed two blobs - the yolk sac and the embryo. We didn't hear the heartbeat but saw it on the screen. The heartbeat measured 139bpm (from memory).

I saw and heard the heartbeat! but it just looked like a smudge on the screen!! I was 6w6d aswell!

Hi All!

Had our first scan today and everything is great! We were only two days out, so now due 14 April instead of 12th and today is 6w4d - so pretty close with the dates!

Lovely strong heart beat as well, so we're very happy!
