the 12-13 wk scan is for dating purposes and also triple test (if you are having the down syndrome test)

when u have the 19-20 wk scan this is when they can tell the sex of your baby...if the little one is facing the right way , sometimes they like to play hide and seek

Danni the genitals are usually to small to be seen at 12-13weeks. As others have said it is usually from 17-18 weeks.
