Freakin' out @ 7wks... help

Hi All,

So i am so stoked to have gotten my on Monday afternoon, especially since DH and I were going to GP's for a referral for fertility testing!!!

Trying to stay calm, praying that this one will stick... even though i did have one day of some very light brown discharge last week Doctor seemed to think this was fine as my hCG levels matched my dates. Today i am 7wk 1day (silly ticker is American and so a day behind...am i being petty allowing that to bother me ?).

This morning when i went to the loo i had this tiny amount of creamy/light brown discharge. It is totally freakin me out. Especially since we lost the last one at 6-7wks. It isn't red, isn't really brown either (not like old blood), just slightly darker than normal creamy discharge. Sorry if tmi. Not alot of it, but every time i wipe there is a little bit.

I don't have cramps or anything, no change in symptoms... but don't know if i am reading too much into this or not? I think last time it started brown before i lost our angel, but darker..like old blood... but now i am paranoid.

Doctor doesn't want to see me for another 2 weeks and won't send me for U/S til i'm 11wks for NT scan and hospital don't want a bar of me until 16wks!

Has anyone had anything like this??? Can reassure me???

Please don't stress. there is quite likely nothing wrong. I have had the thick darker then normal discharge with this pg too. I am sure your bubs is tucked up nice and safely and just waiting for you to have a chance to see them at the 11week scan.

Congrats on your BFP

I had this with this pg too. I think I had it until 8 or 9 weeks. It did bother me quite a bit. Everything is going fine now. Try to relax and enjoy your pg

Try not to worry Hun. It is very common to get a change in the colour, amount and texture of your discharge. For some women it is only a slight change but for others it can be quite noticeable.

Thanks for the advice guys, i feel quite reassured. Maybe i am worked up over nothing. It is so light i'm sure noone else would even notice. For peace of mind i might just get a quantitative hCG at work on Monday as i have a friend in the biochem lab at the hospital, just to check it is going up!

After having 2 healthy bubs, and then 2 m/c - my recent preg was a minefield of worry - I had a couple extra HCG levels done, and had an extra scan done at 8 wks which I hadnt done before.

In my opinion, it is easy to think to yourself not to stress - but that is all I did until I got the early results.

If it makes you feel better, yes get another HCG level and demand an u/s request from doc for 8 wks, if not - get one from another doctor!!!!! - then going into later scan you will feel much more reassured and will worry just that little bit less which can only be good for you and for bubs!

I've been having this also... it comes and goes and I went to the Hospital whilst I was in QLD when it first started and it seems to be not too much to worry about - but having said that it doesn't stop me from pannicking each and everytime it happens

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I felt much reassured until it got a bit darker (still brown) and a little less see through and more solid in colour. I went to see the doctor who felt it was a threatened m/c and is sending me for an urgent scan tomorrow. I am praying there is a heartbeat, but honestly i am terrified. I dont feel like i have the strength to cope with another m/c and DH has to go away interstate for work tomorrow so can't even come to the scan with me. His job is so inflexible in that regard.

I will keep you posted... hoping it is good news.

Oh My Goodness,
So after the doctor totally freaked me out and i balled my eyes out to the sonographer this morning... it seems we have a !!! woohoo... measures at only 5wk3d but that's ok with me. Sonographer said it is implantation bleeding... not to worry... stupid doctor... grrrrrr... i'm not bothering to go back today for HCG results. I am content at the moment and can get my HCG done anytime at work when i go back on Wednesday. (i am having two days of rest).

Ohhh doctor just called and said my HCG levels were 31000... i was disappointed because my last one was 4500 and i thought for a second it had gone down... then didn't i look like a wally when he said... 'No, Emily, there are 3 zero's on the end'. Hahahahaha... that seems to match my old dates better than my new ones though! weird.
