Who confirmed your pregnancy? I know when I fell pg my GP organised the blood tests and an ultrasound (for a dating scan), then I had to book in at the hospital I was going to birth at and was then under the care of the midwives (and obstetricians who worked at the hospital) for the duration of the pregnancy. I didn't have private health insurance though so went through the public health system.

Some people have private obstetricians and go to them for appointments, then birth at a hospital (or home, or birth centre if you have one nearby). So I guess it may depend if you have private health insurance or not, and if you know where you might want to give birth.
Another option is having a doula, they are like a birth coach, and can help you through the whole pregnancy and birth.
