Hair colouring and pregnancy? How safe?

it is safe.

BUT if you dont feel "right" getting it done. then dont. Or atleast wait till the 2nd trimester.

If YOU believe that the last hair dye did something to encourage along the last m/c then wait.. ugly hair is worth the miracle you get at the end.

I waited the 40 weeks.. 43 actually to get my hair done. Problem is... i wanted to put a blonde through it (i dont like my blonde colour lol) and i was more worried about it going green as hormones in pregnancy, for some reason unknown, can play havic on what colour your hair turns out.

You're right! It's not worth the risk, just in case - particularly since I've already had one miscarriage!! If I do anything, I may just do a few foils.

Baby is more important!

Foils or streaks are better because the colour doesn't come into contact with your scalp, but like the others said it is probably better to wait.

I`m waiting till I`m much further on into my pregnancy before I get my foils again, it`s not worth the risk.

i hate to be a killjoy, but coincidentally, i'd coloured my hair the week before all three m/c.

i'm still TTC, and only having foils done, and only every second section to ease the grey out more slowly.

a classmate who is a former hairdresser was infertile despite AC until she was three years past giving up the work, she's 38 now and 20+ weeks along, coincidence maybe but i'm no longer taking the chance

I recently saw a local salon advertising all organic hair coloring - that may be worth exploring if you don't want to go without...although I would be surprised if they had an organic equivalent to foils - it may be only for a single process color...
