I had them too, and they would last for days. Lucky for me panadol took the edge off, as did a coffee.

Im glad to say though that they stopped at around the 2nd tri.

I think its the hormones. Hope you feel better soon!

i dont normally get headaches and i guess i'm blessed that way. however, i agree that lots of water helps as well as perhaps a shower? i normally hop into one n wash my hair if i get a headache n it works for me.

Ive been suffering from alot of headaches with this pregnancy but for the past week they have been constant and quite annoying but my daughters have also had it for a week and i found out there is a nasty head cold like bug going around thats causing headaches and sinus pain so that explains the week long headaches.

    Hi everyone.
This is my first pregnancy and I've been getting mild headaches which seem to last for days. I rarely get headaches so its been a bit of a surprise. I'm seriously allergic to panadol and most other painkillers so my only option is a lie-down! I drink 2 - 3 litres water every day so I dont think its dehydration. For me I'm sure its coffee withdrawal! I haven't had a coffee for two weeks and I am really suffering! I'm hoping my body will get used to it soon

    BD,

Welcome to BB and congrats on your pregnancy. Sorry to hear that you are so allergic to many painkillers. I can really understand the torture of these headaches. I remember mine were so bad some days that my DD just sat and wondered why I was looking so grumpy! LOL, she must have thought it was something she did. Thankfully, they are gone now. Lying down surely helped and for me it was also dehydration. When it gets uncomfortable, you could also try to drink a decaf green tea which helped me. If you think caffeine withdrawal is the reason to your headache, I guess you could also have a cup since they say that pregnant women are allowed to have 2 cups of coffee... so, a cup of it could ease yoru headache! Hope it goes away for you soon....

Hey Carmen - thanks for your comments and congrats on your little one to come! Can we really drink 2 cups a day? A good cup of coffee would definitely ease the pain! I've been a little unsure about the whole coffee thing - most women have told me that coffee is absolutely forbidden! I am hanging out until I see my doctor on Monday - I have a long and growing list of questions for him. I want to do whats right for my baby but its confusing when there are so many differing points of view out there. How do you sort through all the info and extract just whats right and appropriate for you?? Ha ha - the joys of living in a info rich society

I went to see my Ob yesterday, exactly for this reason.
My headaches have been crippling. This is my second pregnancy and I did not get any in my first!
My OB, checked my blood pressure to make sure that was not a reason for the headaches.
He suggested 2 panadol, if that did not work 4 hours later, 2 panadeine. He also suggested Panadol forte and Mysindol could be used as well. He also said cold packs should work well too.
He seems to think that it is caused by the extra blood flow, during pregnancy.
