How do i get rid of it? What is safe to take?

I didnt have it this early first pregnancy and i used to cure it with milk. Well i can hardly stomach water at the moment!

    Hi tegan,

I found that Rennies helped me and chewing gum after meals. I also eat smaller meals rather than big ones. Mine is getting worse as the pregnancy progresses and I have been told to take Zantac by my OB, but I thought I would leave the harsh stuff for when it gets really bad!!

They say that milk helps but I cant stand drinking milk like yourself.

    Hope this helps

Doc prescribed Zantac for me..which I havent taken..as I am too scared. However antacids are great. And so is green tea.

if you are not eating/drinking much this can cause heartburn.

Bev - I had severe heartburn during my PG with Jacob and my OB prescribed Zantac. I had to take it daily and it caused no problems to Jacob whatsoever (and it definitely helped the heartburn!)

I used to eat Mylanta rolltabs like they were lollies! i also found that sometimes skulling warm soft drink (it's extra fizzy this way) can help as it makes you burrrp!! (may sound a bit juvenille but effective nonetheless).

    cheers, sherieb.
