I put on 12kg with my daughter who weighed 4kg at birth. Somehow I lost all of it over night & was walking around the hospital the following day in my normal clothes, I even got asked by one of the midwives if DD was mine when I went to the nursery & picked her up!! (As if I'd be in there picking up someone elses baby... honestly!)
I didnt do any excersise whatsoever during my PG or after so I think it has alot to do with your genes, but I do recommend excersise, I will be trying to with my next PG because it is of course good for you & your baby & can only do good hey
I have since put on 9kg in the past 8 months while TTC our second child so when I do get PG next (fingers crossed I can!) I will definately be watching what I eat etc as my body is obviously different now to what it was pre-baby when I could eat whatever I wanted & never put on weight.
As the girls have said, everyone is different & every pregnancy is different so I wish you luck with your pregnancy & also for after you've given birth. Of course the main thing is to have a healthy baby but we would all like to look our best at the same time... why not!
As I said, good luck... try not to be too hard on yourself, you have to try & enjoy your pregnancy too so you cant be too strict on yourself.
