I saw this a few years ago but watched it again. It is definitley amazing to watch, very interesting.

Tulip, I think if you go to the ABC stores they may have it on dvd/video.

    This was a fantastic show!

Call me a prude, but I still can't get over the fact they showed a woman giving birth, blood, bits and everything, on tv before 7:30pm! I think it would have shocked some people!

I remember seeing him on telly a few years ago in the doco about where they made the first "test tube" baby & it was just amazing what they actually went through to make it happen.

I just love Dr Winston! he has some amazing factual books on the human body. he was also one of the pioneering IVF Dr's in the UK and fought tooth and nail against opposition in both protest groups and parliament to have IVF go ahead (they were posing the same argument as we do today about human cloning - basically that it is against God's will etc). Though Maybe because he is a British Dr, that the stats on m/c are for british women? But alot of m/c probably are unoticed.

Jo, Rob and I said the same thing. I wonder if the network had any complaints about the nudity.

My preggie book says that 90% of pregnancies are fine past 7 weeks I think (it could be 6??) so I would say many of the m/c he is talking about are those 3-5 weekers that just dont stick.

He is a fascinating presenter. I've seen one he did on people and reproduction and it talked about human scent, and it makes us choose our "baby-partners". Apparently someone with an attractive scent has less similar genetic makeup to ourself, therefore would provide the strongest offspring.
Someone who we find smells bad has a very simlar genetic code to ourselves, thus the babies wouldn't have a wide spectrum of healthyness.
    Isn't that fascinating??

You can buy the video or DVD set -

In the Womb is another excellent one too
    Where from?

I've seen "In The Womb" but found it a bit boring.

I'm sorry I missed "The Human Body".

I noticed that "The Human Body" is on again this Saturday - it says it's a repeat and the blurb says something about seeing life inside the human body. Do you think this is the same show? Or is it a series and perhaps this is something different?

the Human Body is a series. I think it moves through from the start of life to death.

If you can find it there is another great series about different events in the human body. The one for pregnancy is title "Parasite". It is done in a similar style to the Human Body, but shows more of what being pregnant does to the mother.

No they can't get into trouble now.

With the new viewing laws at the start of any PG rated show they have to classify what is in that show. If they hadn't of done it then yes, but because they did...

It didn't bother me though, I think its a great show and it gave me and DH some insight into our TTC world. Didn't realise how hard it actually is!!
