Not sure if its just me but boy have i been tired and really lethargic this last week i cant even bring myself to clean the house - which i am usually really pedantic about! The other thing that i have been noticing is that my belly is really itchy - i have noticed i had a rash on bely last week??? this is very strange. My m/s was the worst its been yesterday, well should i say its the closest i have been to the toilet - i have that feeling that just sits in the back of my throat - like teasing me sort of thing - i feel like if i could throw up it might make me feel a little better. Actually just scratched my belly and looked down and i have small stretch marks ALREADY?? Im sure thats not supposed to be??? I have booked i for my date scan next Friday and cannot wait - everyone keeps telling me that i am probably further than i think because i have bloated quite alot already - I dont think that could be right though cause going off last AF my dates seem right??
Anyway I have blabbed on enough - hope you all have a fantastic day!!!
Hey Leila congratulations!!! I felt sooo tired in the first 3 months with all 3 of my pgcy's it's totally normal, I get really bad in the afternoons about 3pm and sometimes have to have a cat nap. The bloatings normal to, I find some days I'm more bloated than others making me look really pregnant. I'm not sure about your rash or stretch marks though, when do you see your dr next? I would ask him about the rash it could be something totally un related but need treating. I've been using Palmers Coco butter as a preventative although I have stretch marks from my last 2 prgncy's I don't want it to get any worse
Leila - the fatigue is really normal. And it's different to "normal" tiredness you get. I'm one of these "just push trough it types" but in my first trimester that was impossible - my brain said one thing but my body was headed for the bedroom! There are a lot of changes happening right now like increase in blood volume, increase in metabolic rate and all the major organs of the baby are forming. No to mention the progesterone which also make you feel tired. Give in to your body, do what it tells you, rest when you need to. You get your energy back in the second trimester (or by 20 weeks at the latest!)
The tiredness and nasuea are definitley normal in the early stages of your PG. I experienced similar symptoms when I was first pg with DS and my OB reccomended that I start taking Elevit, to help with my folate and energy levels. I don't know if you have looked into supplements, but perhaps you should think about taking pg supplements?!
I used Elevit throughout my 1st Pg, while BF, TTC with Bub #2 and have used it throughout my 2nd PG. I am lucky enough to have had two dream pg's as a result!
I don't know if you are already taking a pg supp, but if not I would definitely reccomend talking with your OB about it.
Other than that, I just reccomed resting up as much as possible and putting yourself first - even before a messy house!
