    Hi MrsC

I don't think I can be much help on your specific pain, but just wanted to reassure you that all sorts of discomfort in the abdominal area is very common in pregnancy.

I had lots of round ligament pain from about 10 weeks - shooting, stabbing pains which freaked me out, and I was reassured by my midwife that they're perfectly normal.

I think there are quite a few threads in the pg threads (try looking in the second trimester general discussion one) discussing odd pelvic pains, and I'm sure I have read of other women having similar pains to you.

I guess if it's worrying you, it's easy to give your midwife or dr a call, it's nice to be told that the thing you're worrying about is normal in pregnancy.

All the best for your pregnancy.

Hi Mrs C... if you've been constipated for a while you may have strained your abdo muscles....

I wouldn't worry too much .. you'll get heaps of pains etc before your done

Good luck with your pg and I hope you feel better !!!

It may well be the constipation. I went up to the hospital when i was 18 wks due to having severe pain on my left and right side all night Friday and then continued on all day Saturday, i got to see the doctor and discovered it was just constipation. Anyway it finally subsided and i felt so stupid going to the hospital for something so little.

it is normal. i had the same thing. i got told it could be constipation, bub coming out from the pelvis (i dont know how else to put it but when u get further along bubs not as nestled in ur pelvis) and ligament pains from bub growing. I would be fussed about it at all unless it gets extreamly painful or is accompanied with bleeding.

good luck and try and relax
