I went to the ED tonight because i keep getting this pain and i was worried about possible ectopic.
The OB did a scan and it showed a pregnancy in the uterus with a yolk sac but no fetus can be seen yet.
By my dates LMP i should be 8wks 5 days. The OB says the sac measures 5wks.
Is it possible this pregnancy may progress and be ok?
I have regular cycles and im not usually out by my dates, except my pregnancy before this one i measured 6wks 1 day when i should have been 7wks 4 days, but at the 12 wk scan, baby measured back at the original dates so i went forward the 10 days i was previously behind.
I have 27/28 day cycles.
LMP was Monday 11th May.
Positive pregnancy test on Friday 12th June.
Tested again on Monday 15th June and line was stronger.
Midwife tonight said the pregnancy test she did was very strong. She said the line came up immediately and strong, so that would be even stronger than the second test i did on the 15th June.
I have pregnancy symptoms. My breasts are very sensitive and tender and have grown quite a bit. I have been tired alot. And had some ms every day, as well as heightened sense of smell. All this started increasing from when i thought i was 6 wks, so during the week of 22nd June.
At no point did either the OB or the MW give me an impending sense of doom or say its not likely to go anywhere. In fact they were both the exact opposite, saying they have seen fertility patients who are tracking go through the same thing and then suddenly theres this big baby visible after previously not being there.
I just dont understand whats going on.
Im meant to go back for a repeat scan on 22nd July.
Yes!!This happened to me,my periods were also regular,so going by mine and my docs calculations i was approx 7 weeks,well she sent me for a scan and all they could see was the yolk sac and no fetus or heartbeat,my heart sank but the guy doing the scan said its common and i mustnt be as far as thought,i also had the yolk sac was only measuring 5 weeks,they told me to come back in 3 weeks and i was so nervous but there was the bub 2.5cms long and heartbeat!She hid all the time though,she was always measuring behind and even born only 5pound5 but totally perfect!!
Oh I really really hope that you have a good outcome and that everything is ok - I'm sure it would be seeing that they've got a strong BFP at the ED too!
Did your bub end up catching up in dates or is your current date still the dates that you were given. I was recently put a whole cycle behind than expected so any advice would be helpful.
