Morning sickness / nausea - how early can it start?

    Hi all!

I'm 9 DPO and have been having waves a very mild nausea all day today. I thought it was because I was hungry, but I've had lunch and still feel off. I don't know yet if I am PG so I'm just wondering if I should take any notice of this cos it's still too early and my brain is telling me that there wouldn't be enough hCG to cause MS just yet. Doesn't MS start after the 4th week?

Anyone get nauseous before they knew they were UTD?

    Thanks!

I've heard of stories that it can be that early. I know I have been lucky enough to only have mild nausea so far for both pgs.

I have heard of it starting early. Mine was at about 5/6wks. Hope you are feeling better soon. I found that the accupressure travel sickness bands helped relieve nausea for me.

I got severe HG (vomiting and nausea) with both my pregnancies from smack bang on 5 weeks so it is possible!

I felt a bit off a few days before my BFP with both pregnancies. True morning sickness didn't start until 5-6 weeks though.

With DD2 my morning sickness started at the 2 week mark. Actually, me being sick was the only reason why I took hpt.
When I went to the gp she was sure I was further along than I was because of how sick I was. U/sound on the other hand said otherwise!!

    Its possible, and goodluck!

my mum and I both started m/s about 1.5 days after conception. I kid you not.

I was lucky this time, in that it didn't kick in until about 4 weeks ...

    FX for you!!

With both my boys I was severly vomiting before I could pick it up on a HPT. With dd my nausea was much milder and I didn't get it early on but I did have my pregnancy "food aversion" with her before I could pick it up on a hpt.

Wow that's really interesting guys! Thanks!

First PG I didn't realize I was UTD til I took that PG test because I was due to start clomid. MS didn't start til 6 weeks with DS so not sure if I should be even considering this feeling could possibly be related to a new pregnancy.. 5 more days til I will definitely know. Will keep you posted

I replied to your thread, then went off to do a few things, but kept thinking about it.
This time round we found out I was pregnant at 10wks, and we were surprised. But looking back on those 10wks, I was sick for the entire time!! Initially I thought I was suffering from intolerances (which I had heard can happen after you finish bfing, which I had a week before conception!). So looking back I was sick ever since DD2 had weaned off bfing. there was 8 days between her weaning and me getting pregnant, and from that point onwards looking back I was definately suffering from morning sickness

One of the first signs of all my pregnancies have been feeling off and not quite right in the tummy about a week after conception.

    Fingers crossed for you!

I remember getting a wave of nausea days before my positive HPT (which was 12dpo), and thinking to myself, "maybe I'm pregnant" ... then laughing at myself for thinking I could possibly feel sick that early! I didn't feel ongoing morning sickness till about 6 or 8 weeks, and it went through till 14 or 15 weeks for me.

I was somewhere between about 8 and 11 DPO when I noticed not nausea but weird taste reactions to food. Things tasted slightly off or their flavours were exacerbated. Like a granny smith apple tasted harshly acidic and basil in my pasta tasted super sharp.
