Sounds promising Dee - don't worry the initial result only gives a statistical probability, so all along there may have been absolutely nothing wrong... It is so hard to have to wonder and wait but it sounds like the amnio has put your mind at ease which is wonderful!
i had the blood test with josh 12 years ago, it was a very high risk, this is what prompted me to not have any further tests for my next pregnancy. i have 3 'normal' healthy boys.
good luck

Dee, that is really great news. I am sure the other results will be fine too.
As Berry has said, the NT scan and BT are screening tests, not diagnostic. This means that they look for values that are sometimes associated with abnormalities and a risk ratio is determined from that. No matter how high or low risk your results say you are, they do not ever say something is wrong, or everything is all right. This is the biggest problem with this type of testing. Most people who are classed as "high risk" after the test will actually have nothing wrong. And sometimes someone who is calculated as having a very low risk will actually have a chromosonal abnormality. Some people choose not to have the NT test for this reason. It is really a hard decision to make, as a good result can put your mind at ease, but a bad one can cause unnecessary worry as you have had.
I hope now that you have had the amnio, you are able to relax and enjoy the rest of your pg. It must have been a terrible few weeks for you and I'm so glad it is nearly over for you.
Awesome, Donna! I've been thinking of you and hoping for the best
You just need to concentrate on growing that baby now, and doing the great job with DS you're already doing!
GL Dee.
My SIL was given a 1:20 chance that her baby would have downs. She went ahead with the amnio and bubs was fine.
It is still a small risk. I hope that all is fine. ((hugs)) GL making your decision
Donna darl, I haven't been around lately but as Maya(IK) said, you are strong remember that. Blood tests are tricky things, but the Amnio has given you a better idea.
