A Newbie & Pregnant...

Oh and did I mention SHOCKED!!!!

Hi All,

My name is Kylie,and 2 weeks ago we found out we are having baby # 2!!!

Mind you, our son is 12, so this is a very big shock to us all. I have always wanted another baby, so we are happy about this.

My pregnancy is classed as "HIGH RISK" as I am a bit overweight and I have Diabetes. I went for my first hospital visit at the HIGH RISK CLINIC on Thursday 27/11 and also saw the Dietian & the Diabetes Educator. I was a little disappointed that no one felt my belly

On Friday 28/11, I went for my first ultra sound, mainly because there are twins on both sides of the family, ( hubby is an identical & my Mum's Mum is a twin), and I just wanted to make sure the baby is where is should be.

Being bigger then my last pregnancy, I didnt think that they would be able to see much, but there is a gestation sac present & a fetal pole has been identified. The baby's heartbeat is 183 bpm.

Going by MY dates, I am about 11 weeks + 1 day pregnant, but according to the scan I am 10 weeks + 1 day. Estimated due date is June 26th 2009.

After 12 years since my last one, my memory is not so good, so its like starting all over again.

How exciting to be giving your first child a brother or a sister! I am sure you will learn lots in here. You can join a bellybuddies group for people who are expecting around the same time as you.

There are women in here who you will be able to discuss all the issues you could ever think of with. Spend some time browsing the different forum groups and finding relevant aread to you and you will get more info than any text book will ever give you!
