No fetal pole ... at 6 .5 week scan

Hi there..

Last week I had a scan outside and internal and BOTH they couldnt find
the fetal pole or heartbeat .. I get another scan today .. Im supposed to be 7.5 weeks
just wanted to find out if there is anyone else out there who has the same

hi this happened to me too but it was a bit earlier (5 weeks). when i posted on bb, quite a few girls posted and said the same thing had happened to them a bit later ie more around 6.5 weeks. they had gone on to have healthy pregnancies (as did i). there is also another current thread on bb i think by ellie where there a quite a few instances of no fetal pole until 8 weeks.

i wish you the best of luck for your scan today. its such an emotional time. i remember i was a wreck until i saw the heartbeat at my second scan (6 weeks, 5 days).

Hi Hun, the same thing happened to me about 5 weeks back now. I was also bleeding so it was a very scary time for me.

I went in and had both the external scan and then the internal scan done. No foetal pole or heartbeat either. I also had my HCG levels chceked and re checked. I waiting for 2 week's in between scan's. I got my HCG level results, they were rising so I assumed all was good. I didn't want to rush back in for my repeat scan and not be able to see anything again. That's why I waited so long. Turns out that I would have only been 5.5weeks when I had the first scan. That was the reason for not being able to see the foetal pole.

Oh BTW, I thought I was around 6.5weeks, so a week out.
