its awful isn't it...
Feeling that ill is really debilitating (sp?) especially when you get no relief. Being a busy mum wouldn't help! Don't be hard on yourself, and try and rest up as much as you can![]()
I have really disabling nausea that is distressing me more than I remember being distressed by "morning" sickness before. It builds over the day so that by the mid afternoon I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I'm not actually throwing up and sometimes I wonder if it would feel better if I did.
This is child #6, and I've had morning sickness before and never felt so *distressed* by it (except #1 when I was vomiting constantly).
I don't understand why it is upsetting me so much or why I'm finding it so hard to deal with when I'm not actually vomiting. And I'm only six weeks so I guess I have a lot more to deal with...

Oh MS is so awfulI feel for you..... I too had nausea from 6 weeks onwards and it was ALL day nausea and sometimes pretty bad but i never once vomited (although I felt like i could have especially when trying to eat something!!)
I found having a warm/hot shower made me feel better. I know it's only a 'temporary' measure but i found there wasn't much more i could do.....
What about ginger? Have you tried to take ginger? I know lots of pregnant women have tried this and said it helped?
I think if your nausea is that bad you can see a GP for some prescription anti-nausea drugs that are safe however GP's don't like to give them out especially in first tri you are only at the beginning, delicate early stage iykwim.....
Good luck hope it eases soon.
I found it hard work being pg with one other child. I think you are amazing!! I really hope it eases for you soon, but please be gentle on yourself. Do as little as possible, get some rest, eat when you can and look after you.

Hi
I really feel for you, I had morning sickness with all my 3 pregnancies .
I'm now 35 weeks pregnant with twins it was the worst form 8 weeks I was throwing up all day and I couldn't get out of bed, I couldn't look after my 3 other children My husband had to take time off work to help. I eventually ended up in hospital for a week.
I would go to the doctor .
for you it's the worst.
Cathie
I hadn't thought of the ginger.
THanks for the sympathy, I feel like a grade-a whinger.
I'm also nauseous but not actually vomiting (or hardly at all). It lasts all day for me too.
I am finding that eating helps. Even when I don't feel like eating, not eating will make me feel sicker. I seem to do best eating something with some protein in it every few hours, and absolutely not letting myself get really hungry, because by the time I'm really hungry I'm too sick to eat anything, and it all gets worse from there.
Maybe if you tried having a little bit of meat+bread, or cheese on a cracker, or something like that (my current favourite is a boiled-egg and lettuce sandwich), it would help. I'm finding that eating carbs or just plain salad/vegies doesn't help the nausea, but protein does.
Overeating is also bad for me, by the way - makes me feel totally sick -, so maybe be careful not to eat any really large meals, just smaller meals and snacks through the day.
Not that I really had MS but when I felt queasy a Ginger Nut Biscuit and a cup of tea really helped..
I always had ginger nuts beside me and I would nibble on them
oh you poor thing. I have all day nausea as my morning sickness too. I found I couldn't let myself get hungry coz then it would spiral. But if I sipped on a little bit of coke it eased my tummy enough to let me eat which then helped me feel better.
Dunno if I can help with the distress you feel with it, but I get really upset when I'm sick too (had gastro the other weekend and I was in tears - and also wondering if I could ever go through m/s again LOL) and I was crying coz I just HATE that nauseas feeling. Perhaps sipping some chamomile tea will help your tummy and help to calm you a bit?
Hope it doesn't last too long for you *hugs*
I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one feeling like that. This is my 4th pregnancy and whilst with the others I had slight nausea with this one I have it all day, and by night I just feel awful.
I started to think it was all in my head as I too don't feel like vomiting. I will try some of the suggestions re ginger biscuits, and also the protien. I'm only 6 weeks and it seems to be getting worse, could be a long pregnancy at this rate.
Hope you are started to feel better toomanytoomany
First of all let me say you are a legend!
This is only my second and I found it soo much harder looking after small people and dealing with being ill.
I seriously hope you are feeling better soon, and if not that you have someone just as amazing to help you out.
Yes, it's a relief to hear when others are feeling the same.
My m/s usually peaks about nine weeks then tapers off and is usually gone completely by twenty weeks. Thirteen weeks to go...
I've figured out that if I want to get anything done, it has to be in the first half of the day because by the middle of the afternoon, I'm totally cactus. I took the kids to the zoo yesterday thinking it would take my mind off it, and we had to keep stopping for snacks and rests so I could stop moaning. The kids were really good about it. Then I got home and just lay on the bed. Dh is being very understanding. I'm nervous about how I'm going to manage at work next week.
I just wanted to offer you. Most people have already suggested what I would have so good luck and rest up when you can.
hi toomany, just wanted to pop in and say that the last 2 nights i have put on my "sea bands" when i went to bed at night and felt pretty good when i got up in the morning(kept them on til about lunch time). before this i was just putting them on when i woke up and they werent really helping at all.
HTH.
I feel for you ladies,MS is something i'm really dreading.
I've had some mild nausea on & off,i'm 7 weeks today. Friday was the closest i've come to actually throwing up. At work it's hard as they don't know just yet & there's really only so many times you can pull the gastro story.
I've been finding if i end up feeling really hungry,it makes me feel worse. I've been keeping a bottle of water with me so that when i feel a bit of nausea coming on i just have a little drink. It seems to help ease it for a bit so far.
