    Painful Wind Problems

    Hi everyone

I'm 12 weeks today (happy 12 weeks to me!!) and have been experiencing really bad wind pains, almost to the point of me being in tears!

Does anyone know any remedies to help with this or anything I am allowed to take to help with it as it's driving me nuts and really painful!

    Thanks ladies!

Janine - congrats on the 12wks sweety!! Whoo hooo... I had bad wind pain around that time too, have you tried lying down in differnt possies, even on your knees (bent forward) with your bum up so you can help release some of that wind it will look funny but if it works, then go for it! .. even try rubbing your belly or try some peppermint tea?

    BOL,

Peppermint and Degas are good for tummy wind, and activated charcoal capsules (like Charcotabs) are good for bowel wind. All ok to take in pregnancy!

OH MY GOD - I can so relate to this one! (how come no one tells you about this lovely symptom before you get pg)?
The only thing that works for me is to lay down, couch or bed it doesn't matter & tuck you knees right up.
After about 10 minutes you will hear a huge explosion (lol) or a few little ones but even just being in that position helps the pain.
I have tried lots of things & this is the only thing that works & works fast, now I know why babies tuck their legs up when they have wind.
Hope this helps you too. (I find I have bad reflux which I'm thinking could be related).

I can sure sympathise with this thread!!! Wowsers, uncomfortable on the belly and the nose!!! I was thinking the same thing as Jo, that is what they say to do for bubs isnt it so same principle on adults. Problem is you cant really do it at work! What do you do when that crippling wind cramp gets you in public??? Hmmm problem.

Yeah, when it is that moment when all is inside you and the pain is intense. It is just awful feeling. I just sit on the toilet in private and hope something comes out of me to relieve the tumtum.
