Is pineapple safe to eat?

Hi everyone
I've heard that pineapple can cause miscarriage. Is this true?
They are coming into season and I'd love to have some!

Never heard this one - I ate heaps of pineapple during both my pregnancies! Maybe its just an old wives tale?

I am pretty sure it's safe too. I know that lots of people eat it around their due date as it is rumored to bring on labour, but that would only be when you were ready to give birth anyway. I have never heard of it being a miscarriage risk and I have done A LOT of reading on safe and unsafe foods. I would say eat it and enjoy!

I've heard it! It's apparently considered one of the 'hot' foods which aren't good in pg (wierd asian hot/cold food thing LOL. Even icecream is classified a 'hot' food) I would think in moderation it would be ok tho. I know I've eaten in whilst pregnant

With my first pregnancy I had a craving for pineapple juice. I had no probs and went 9 days overdue. I dont think there is a problem.

It is supposed to help induce labour but with most natural induction methods it only helps when things are getting ready anyway (imo).

However, pineapples unless they are spray and chemical free are a HIGHLY toxic food. They are heavily sprayed with very very nasty chemicals and for that reason I always advise pregnant women to steer clear. Of course if they are spray and chemical free or organic it's fine.
