Doesnt the implanon covince your body through hormones that you are pregnant so you dont ovulate and release and egg?

Are you sure you arent just getting a positive reading from that? Maybe thats why people laughed at you when you tried to get an appt?
Implanon will not cause a false positive on a hpt or any test because it does not produce hcg. It works just like the pill.

I have had my implanon in for well over 2yrs but during most of that time I was obese, started taking duromine and I have a very high drug tolerance.
I found out that duromine is really bad to take with the implanon because it increases the metabolism therefore using the drugs in the implanon quicker. Being obese also requires more of the drug to be efficient.

I started spotting at about 18months from having it inserted and a month later I was as regular as clockwork, I started ovulating before I was getting AF and have had it confirmed that it is no longer having any effect on my cycle but were hoping it would still stop implantation..... well the doctor was anyway.

Most of the studies were performed into the 20th month as many had the implant removed between then and 24months and none of the women in the trials were anywhere near obese.

The reason I am laughed at is because not all the staff read up on everything to do with each product and see the implanon as perfect and failsafe and so do not believe that it is possible for anyone to fall pregnant on implanon.
One of my friends fell pregnant after she passed the 2year mark also but somehow she managed to get them to do an U/S and now her DS is a month younger than my own. They took her implanon out the day of the U/S.
