    Remedies for illness during pregnancy

    Hi Ladies!

Just wondering if anyone has any remedies for when you get hit with a cold, cough, headache, etc?

I've got one of those awful seal bark type coughs, a sore throat and I think my nose is coming to join the party too, along with a mean headache. Panadol/paracetamol does absolutely nothing never has for me and it seems like it never will.

I've tried lavender oil and vicks vaporub for the headache and congestion, and honey for my throat but nothings working and I can't get into my GP until the end of the week

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Oh, you poor thing.
Scheussler do a homeopathic cough suppressant spray. Otherwise your best bet is panadol and good old fashioned honey and lemon. Hope you're feeling better soon

I would ask the chemist first.
You could put honey and lemon in hot water and let it cool. It won't be as effective, but better than nothing.
Worst case, down a spoon of sugar.

I had a bad flu a few times during pregnancy... I used the vicks over a bowl of hot water, that helped a little! Also there is a nasal spray that is Cat A, Rhinocort. It's great!! And completely safe, pretty much the only one that is other than saline spray.

Cold and flu stuff are big no no's though unfortunately!
Munch Vit C, and the garlic n horseradish tablets...

    Good luck!!!

Try the Weleda brand, they have elixirs and homoeopathics that are safe during pregnancy, just ask for advice where they sell it!
