Safe to be around my sick mum?

I'd say yes. I had terrable colds and things during both pregnancies. Only thing is if you get it you can't take any medication for it. Plus if she's had it for 2 weeks and says she's fine in my opinion there's minimal chance you'll get anything. Maybe just limit the touching - small hug

I was going to say No, but then reading it is a flu/virus that she has had for 2 weeks.. That is a bit different.. I have been sick (if you call a cough being sick) for a month. I have felt fine except for the cough and it has been waking me at night so making me a little tired as well, but showing no other symptoms for over 2 weeks. I even had a friend happy to hand over her 12 week old bub the other day while she did something. (she knew I had a cough cause we were talking about it, and when she went to let the dog out of the shed, she passed me the baby).

I would see her feelings. Does she feel as though she is mostly better, or has she possibly got a 2nd dose on top of the 1st. If the latter, I would stay away, only cause I am like a bear with a sore head if I am sick and can't take anything to help lessen the symptoms, especially at night..

Risk vs benefit. You might get sick, you probably wont. Seeing her will benefit you if it makes you happy. IMO the benefit would outweigh the risk, but that's cause my mum's such a big part of my life.
