so last week at 11 weeks I went and got some maternity bra's fitted. I walked out with 2 pairs. anyway the first pair digs into the sides and leaves big red marks and indentations of about 5mm and the second pair is fitting more like a crop top. I have already washed them but I am taking them back today to ask them about exchanging them. did anyone else have issues getting fitted for maternity bra's? I am big busted anyway but this is awful. there is just no support and I feel so uncomfortable in them.
That's no good, they should definitely not cause pain or discomfort. New bras sometimes feel a little tight at first but shouldn't be uncomfortably so let alone painful. It could be that you were fitted to the right size but the brand if bra or the style isn't right for your body as there's lots of variance with one size between brands and also styles.
I found that in pg the target non underwire ones that have wise elastic as support were pretty good and cheap too.
Later on I bought more structured ones from Aba.
thanks ladies. I went back and had a chat and showed the lady. different lady today and she was super helpful. we decided the one that digs in a bit we can put an extender on and it felt much more comfortable after that. the other one she said to keep for when I start bf as it might be better for then. i ended up with 2 Freya maternity bra's with the hotmilk to keep for later. it appears the Freya brand is better fitting for me. the hotmilk she agreed was not the right fit at the moment.
it appears i have gone from 12F pre pregnancy to a 12GG now so i need super supportive bra's!!
little 0 - I am predicting that will happen to me too! it did last time when I had DS! though I told DH I was having a boob job once I finished bf because I was sick of having these big balls on my chest LOL
I wore Freya and hot milk ones when I was pregnant as well. I am a 12F normally but went to a GG Cup while pregnant. I was in them from 6 weeks pregnant and agree with the others hat they should not dig in! It was hard to go back to normal bras once I stopped feeding haha!
I wore Elle McPherson Intimates and Chloe and Lola (a Myer brand) with DD. Hot milk didn't fit me right and neither did the Target ones. But I'm not that big. I went from a 10B/small C to a D but even then my D was more in the circumference than the fullness of the breast if that makes sense. With this pregnancy, because I was still nursing DD until recently my boobs didn't do the pregnancy swell at all - in fact I've been smaller than ever! Only now in the 11th week they are starting to feel a bit heavier and fuller.
I'm a 12b normally and have been wearing 14C the target underwire free ones for weeks but they have no support. I still fit into my playboy ones but only if I the the padding out and with an extender.
I need to get fitted properly. I've never heard of Freya
I'm looking into Freya too. I think I've seen it on Zodee. I've just been wearing wire free/soft cup bras since my breastfeeding boobies shrunk back to their normal size. I don't seem to need a lot of support. We'll see how that goes as this pregnancy progresses though!
