    sooooo sick!

    morning ladies...

Just writing to have a cry about how badly I have morning sickness! its awful! I feel ill from about 6am onwards and then as soon as I get out of bed I'm sick, then usually in the shower as well, then a few times when I get to work! And then I feel queasy and exhausted all day..
Its ok on weekends because I can usually just sleep in and sleep it off but work is just a nightmare! I'm about to lose it and have a massive cry! I can't take anymore time off work either!
Who thought it could be so exhausting!

Oh darling... I know it must be awful for you.

Just keep on going and you'll get there. Try all the usual things to help the nausea. Deep breaths always helps me.

I hear you hun! I have just had my first 'spew free' days and appreciating it soooo much!

I ended up in hospital on a drip for dehydration so keep an eye on that. The dr ended up putting me on medication...phenergan at night...and zofran wafers during the day. Took the doc a while to talk me into it but I had tried everything else...ginger..sea sick bands..eating before getting up...you name it...the medication was the only way I could function. I'm off the med's altogther now...hope I'm not tempting fate by saying that!? Hope you feel better soon

Aw, sorry Heidi. That must be terrible.
By all means, have a cry - you are perfectly entitled!!!
(Makes my attack of the queasies every now and again seem totally pathetic! )

I found sea sick bands helped, but didn't stop it just made it a little more bearable. This time I had m/s REALLY bad and ended up going to my doc who gave me an injection of maxolon and a script for tablets.... I actually didn't need the tablets as it seems the injection kinda shocked my body into not being so bad. I was still queasy but it was manageable after that.

to you honey, it's not a fun part of being pg at all.

    Awe Hun,
i so feel your pain im 11 weeks pregnant and have only stopped feeling sick within the past week, i found ginger tablets from the chemist were my life savers if i ran out of them i'd have force myself to down a peice of toast with nothing on it and that worked really well not really appertising but it sure worked & also peppermint oil or peppermint lifesavers a biiiig help. i was sick from the moment of waking up till i went to bed at night its horrible i know i thought it'd never end but this week ive been fine apparently it usually last only up to 12weeks for some. Hope this works for you Hun

HUGS! I sort of know how you feel
I have all day and night nausea - altho I have been lucky and only actually thrown up a few times.
I just make sure I take it SLOW in the morning
I eat a dry cracker (salada) before I even get out of bed in the morning... I munch on them on the train on the way to work at 6am too!!!
I hope it eases for you soon... would be nice if we could just stay in bed the first trimester!

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that your feeling so ill. I had very, very, very bad m/s both times so I can completely relate. Even ended up in hospital from dehydration and on serious meds (Zofran & Maxalon).

My only bit of advise to you is that you need to look after you! If the m/s is really bad, absoultely nothing will ease it completely, but rest will help. Hopefully yours isnt as bad and the tips youve been given will do the trick. If you need to take time off to rest, then do it. My m/s was always worse (if thats possible) when I was tired. Working takes so much out of you when pg and its so important to look after you. See if you can lie down at lunch time in the sick room if your feeling really tired, I did.

I know its hard when you need to work, I was the same, but you should know that your m/s may not abate at 12 weeks (mine didnt) and I was absoultely devastated and exhaused when this happened. Mine went on until 20 weeks both times, and I still get m/s every now and then and Im 34 wks! What Im saying is that this is another reason to take care of yourself and listen to what your body is telling you.

Also, its ok to cry. I cried so many times because it just all got too much, but it does get easier as time goes by.

GL. I hope you get better soon. M/s is the worst!

    Income Protection

    Hi Heidi,

I am sorry to hear that your morning sickness is so severe. You should check your superannuation policy and see if it has Income Protection as part of your policy. This will allow you to take the time off you need to rest. Please be carefull. I lost my baby at 26 weeks because I tried to keep working with hyperemisis gravadium (severe morning sickness). Also talk to your doctor and start taking Zofran. It was the only medicine that gave me some relief.

    Regards
    Eloise
