Just wondering if anyone else has experienced what I have this week.
I am 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant.
Sunday afternoon went to the toilet for # 1, and noticed dark brown spotting on tp afterwards. This continued for a bit then nothing, again Monday morning. Went to doctors, had U/S, babies heartbeat was detected 170bpm, and growing great. Cervix was closed so everything appears normal.
Doc advised that this would be old blood and nothing to worry about unless cramping or blood turns into red colour.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and possibly know what causes this.
I have two experiences with spotting, one not so good and the other is my current pg which is going well.
My first pg I was a bit over 6 weeks along, I got out of bed one morning and there was brown staining on my knickers like af was starting. Over 72 hrs it got heavier and I m/c that bub (was actually blighted ovum when I had the u/s).
This pg I had brown CM a week apart at 4.5 wks, 5.5 wks & 6.5 wks (1 - 2 spots per day). It just came out randomly like normal CM but was brown tinged. I spoke to my Ob about it after it happened the first time and he said the only thing that worried him about it was that it worried me. I had a scan at 5.5 wks which showed a healthy little yolk sac, then one at 7.5 wks which showed a healthy fetus and then I've just had my NT scan nearly two weeks ago and bub is coming along really nicely. I don't know why the brown CM was appearing.
So given what you have said - yours sounds like my current pg which is so far going really well.
It soooo hard not to worry but I really don't think both of our Ob's would have told us not to worry if things were really not looking good - Dr's don't give you false hope!
Hope you don't get any more spots. It's probably just bub snuggling in nice and tight.
I did have spotting but mine was at 5.5wks. It was apparently from the embryo attaching to my uterus or something....
Old blood is nothing to worry about, just take it easy and try not to overdo stuff.
Congrats on your pregaz and good luck.
