I recently found out that I'm in the early stages of my (longed for) first pregnancy. Sorry to launch right in with my first post and start being all needy but ever since the day after I confirmed the pregnancy (just over a week ago) I've been experiencing varying levels of spotting and it is completely freaking me out.
I've been to the doctor, who said it's pretty normal and nothing to get to uptight about as long as there's no pain (which there isn't). Most of what I've seen about it on the web says the same thing. But this is my first pregnancy, and I can't help being worried. It doesn't seem normal, no matter how many times I read that it is.
I'd really love to hear from anyone who's been through this. I'm in my seventh week now, and I really need to know if I can expect this to stop soon or if I should be worried - because I am.
I had spotting too on and off for weeks and I am now 31 weeks pregnant! Ask your Doc for a referral for an ultrasound, that may ease your anxiety. I saw my bub for the first time at 7 weeks! Gluck xox
I had multiple bleeds with my DD who is now 10mths old, one around 6wks which scared the hell out of me, one i think around 10-11 wks and one a little later in the pregnancy.
They say the one around 6wks can be from the egg etc implanting in your uterus and so on, the others they told me may have been caused by pressure during intercourse.
I was FREAKING to say the least.
#2 is on teh way now, am 18wks and so far (touch wood) no bleeds this time round.
I was told if the blood is brownish and no pain then try not to worry it's if you get pain or the blood dramatically changes color and becomes 'fresher' that you should get double checked.
Hope this helps, good luck i'm sure it will all be fine.
hey bambina, just wanted to say you should come and join us in the belly buddies thread. i think you would be in the one i'm in - due mid-end march, and a few people in this thread have had spotting and things have turned out ok for them. hope to see you there!
Thanks so much ladies, it really helps to hear from people who have been through the same thing with no major disasters. The bleeding is certainly not heavy or 'fresh', but as a paranoid first timer I couldn't help being concerned. A little less concerned now though, thanks to y'all
ScaryPinkFairy, I haven't been to the OB yet, but I think I'm due late March / early April. Will join the group anyways, I guess I can always switch if it turns out I'm due a bit later!
