    Thoughts on BFP

    Hello Ladies,

This is my first pregnancy so everything is exciting and scary at the same time.

To cut a long story short, me and my partner decided to have a night away. During that day, i found out a friend was preggo and I decided that i would have a couple of drinks to celebrate but mentioned to my partner that i wanted to do a HPT first, just in case, as we have also been trying to conceive. My period technically isn't due until tomorrow, so i tested about 5 days early. It was about 6:30pm when i tested and within about 15 seconds, i had a BFP . I was in so much shock....more so at how quickly it came up and how dark the line was.

My question to you all is; did anyone else get such a result so early and could it be possible that (and this is what scares me) that i could be having twins...as they do run in the family.

Congrats on bfp. But I wouldn't jump to conclusions about twins yet, wait til your scans. Some women have lots of hcg some have little, just like different pg will increase differently. Hence why the beta hcg test has such wide variables. But wishing you a h&h 9 months.

Congrats! I got a BFP very early (and dark) last pregnancy and I just had 1, but I had very high HcG. Good luck for your pregnancy!

I tested 8dpo (5 days before my period was due) and all 3 were instant BFP's. Only one baby, I have twins running in my family too.

    Thoughts on BFP

I got my (faint) bfp at 9dpo (5 days before due)
But the next two days they got quite dark. It might even depend on which test you used? Not sure though.

Twins run in my family too. I try not to think about that possibility though. Lol.

I got a dark BFP at 9DPO and about 5 days before AF was due with my last pregnancy. No twins for me, though we don't have any in our family!

HCG number won't indicate twins - only your scan will confirm for sure.

I got BFP's at 9dpo with both my pregnancies - my HCG was tested at 16dpo, with the first one being 305 which was my DD and then the second my HCG was 351 and was the twins.

Congrats on your BFP but don't worry about how many you are carrying until your scan time, enjoy that you have a magical BFP

My first pregnancy super strong early lines and just one bub.
My second pregnancy no positive line until almost 4wks pregnant, then normal almost low hcg bloodtest results and it was twins!
So bloodtests and hpt initially can't determine number of babies... Ask all the people who find three babies at first scan!

    Good luck!

I was going through all my dates with my (crappy) doctor....and i would have only implanted within a few days before taking the test. I was literally about 3 days pg.....i find that very odd...

the only reason i tested early was because me and my other half wanted to celebrate finding out a friend was expecting....i tested to be on the safe side....funny how things turn out.
