Ultrasound 7 weeks

Hi,
I am very curious as to what i should expect come my 7 week scan. I know the procedure but am hoping someone can tell me what i should expect to see and to look for. Should there be a visable heartbeat etc.. It has been suggested to me to push the scan further to eight weeks but im impatient! What do you all think, ill will be seven weeks and two days pregnant on the day.

We had a scan at around 7 weeks...saw a little flashing heartbeat...we were told that we were lucky to see one as some don't see a heartbeat until a little later...

I had an ultrasound with both of my pregnancies at 7 weeks and both times we saw a heartbeat.

I am having my 7 week scan on Monday, and I cannot wait. I am also curious. Does anybody know if they will give us a photo to take home of our little one.

i had one at 8 weeks and saw a heart beat!! but what i didnt know is that they do it by internal u/sound!! yeah they should give you a pic!!

Hi, I also was a heart beat at 7.5 weeks.I didnt need an internal just one outside on the tummy.

Yes you do get an image to take home. I take mine home and frame them when I reach past 1st trimester.

Dont forget to wear water proof make up, with those homones you will probably cry like me.lol
They say you have these chances of getting through the 1 st trimester with heart beats at these percentages.

6 weeks you have a 78% chance
8 weeks you have a 98% chance
10 weeks you have a 99.4 chance

Some people do not agree in this. Personally I believe you have to have something positive to hang on to, and this worked for me.

So do they warn you when you book in if is going to be an internal or external scan?? oh i am going for my scan today and i hope i get a pic.

no i wasnt told at time of booking.. but they did try to do it on the tummy but couldnt get anything so he had to do internal one..

My Ob wouldnt do a scan until I was 12 weeks as some babies dont have a detectable heartbeat until 8-10 weeks. Those who have scans earlier and dont hear/see a heartbeat have a terrible couple of weeks wait until they see one. Hopefully you get to see the little heart beating away healthily .............

I had an internal one and they didnt even try the tummy. The internal one gets better pictures anyway and it wasnt as uncomfortable as I thought it would be.

Well just had my first scan... :-) omg it was amazing i seen the little heart beat and she said it was really strong YAY i am 8 weeks and due March 03 2008. She said they can usually detect the heart beat at 6weeks.

I had my first at exactly 6 weeks and there was a strong heart beat
