you may hbe been following my thread no AF.. but i got a BFP via blood test yesterday.. i went to a ultra sound today but im too early for it to show..
the ultra sound lady pushed down on my tummy firmly.. it was quiet tender..and did an internal ultra sound... this was like 11am this morning.. just now 4pm i ahve been going to the loo trying to do a number 2 (tmi i kno) coz i have cramping like im gonna have diorreah.. nothing tho..
i have no bleeding but im just wondering if someone could advise me if they got cramping after an ultra sound..
i've had a number of internal scans through the ivf cycles, and with all the poking and prodding, have ended up with a horrid tum more often than i care to remember
one thing to keep in mind - if you are pg, you're likely to get constipated - i find when i DO get constipated, when i finally get moving, i end up with an upset tum - so perhaps you have a bit of an upset tum, but a bit of a back log there too kwim?
thank you.. im a first timer and not sure what it would be like if i were miss carrying.. but i figured if it was tender when she pushed down on my belly that it could be just tender from that!
what is kwim?? i didnt think i would be constipated coz i used my bowels this morning and at lunch time.. but maybe i shud eat come sultanas tonight..
KWIM = Know what I mean. There is a list of common abbreviations in the FAQs forum.
I haven't miscarried, but I imagine it would be a fair amount of pain. When you are pregnant, the processing of things through the intestines slows down to enable you to absorb more nutrients back out, as you need to supply both yourself and the baby. This can cause constipation, cramping and other discomfort. The first time I was pg I had awful tummy pains for the first few weeks. I never found out why but I think it was just my bowels getting used to the changes. I would say that more than likely what you are experiencing is related to this.
amsta - some women get constipation others get diorreha (sp?) it just depends on the person. for the first few months of this pregnancy I got terrible stomach cramps on and off and all was fine. When i miscarried the pain was pretty bad and only got worse. I am sure everything is fine with you and it is your body just adjusting.
As a general rule, if you're not bleeding you're safe (and even if you are bleeding, things could very well be normal anyway). It doesn't matter that the sonographer pushed down on your tummy during the u/s, theres fat and muscle and amniotic fluid, not to mention the bones of the pelvis, protecting the embryo. Hope that helps.
