    Very different this time round!!

    Hi

My first pregnancy was a dream, morning sickness for the first 14wks but nothing else and felt otherwise fantastic. Hair looked good and skin was glowing, this time I feel so sick, tired and look a mess!! My skin looks so dull and is getting blotchy and spotty, my hair is just horrid and by 12pm I'm ready to go back to bed again. Is this normal second time round...friend said that all of your natural stores of vits and mins have been depleated from the first time and they will never be the same and thats one of the reasons.
Also have very bad pains that go right up to my belly button, like shooting pains and very bad cramp like pains bothsides of my hip bones. None of which I had the first time round, I was alot fitter then and very active!
Has anyone else had this or having this???

    Thanks
    Sus

I don't have any real advice to offer you.. but this is my first pregnancy and it is horrible! The vomitting feels like it's never going to end, i'm always tired and i always just feel feral. Further more i only want to eat certain things otherwise it just doesn't want to stay down. I lost 9kgs from the start of pg and i was weighed at Ob's last week and i have put a kilo on! We are having a little girl, i keep telling myself that's why my body is being so difficult! And in old wivestales, a boy is a smoother pregnancy that a girl.

So perhaps your expecting PINK this time around!

I have to say I definitely felt alot worse with my second pregnancy
I think alot of it is to with the fact that with the first one you have no other children to take care of, so you get to play "princess" a bit - sleeping in when you need it, sleeping during the day, molly-coddled by everyone around you etc.
Second time around you have a toddler to deal with who has needs and couldn't care less how you feel. Plus you don't get the extra sleep either.
The beginning of my second pregnancy just sucked, I really didn't enjoy it much at all. I really found it hard, I was working full time too and then coming home to a toddler...I liked the first time better LOL.

I totally agree with u! I was the biggest princess when i was pg with Mya. Leon wouldn't let me do heaps of stuff & i basically got to sit around on my bum for 9 months hehe (hmm could be why i put so much weight on with her!!)

Second time round i felt like crap!. Mya didn't give a damn about how i felt LOL & Leon, well he knew i was capable of doing pretty much anything....bugger!

thanks for the feedback...makes me feel better knowing others are feeling the same or even worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
last time I left work 1wk before the summer holidays...I'm asking my husband when can I finish up this job so I can relax...my answer "when he can finish his". HAHAHA
My husband is being fantastic about it all and when he comes home he takes Aaron straight off my hands and keeps him entertained, makes dinner as the sight and smell of things makes me feel very ill. Keeps offering massages but by the time Aaron has gone to bed and we have had dinner and cleared away I'm to tired!
I'm sure it will all pass...thats what I keep telling myself.
    Thanks

So far I feel ok, no morning sickness. I didn't have any the first time, but I can certainly relate to spotty, oily skin, my hair takes more effort...although I'm not doing anything different. 3pm hits and I hit the wall, I feel like lying down in my office for a power nap. Oh, and the blocked, stuffy nose is just ridiculous....I feel quite ordinary...bleccch.

Yes what is it with the nose thing!!! We have gone through so many boxes of tissues should have bought shares!
I am greatful I'm not working...really dont know how the hell anyone goes to work when they feel like this!
My little darling is napping now...I love nap time.

that sucks for you having a dream pg the first time and not so much the second one - hope it passes and you start radiating soon.

I've been lucky this time round too and the only thing different is my skin (this time a bit blotchy/spotty) but apart from that a dream.

do you take pg supps? Reason I ask is because I do (elevit) and I swear by them, esp as they keep my energy levels high and with a 2.5yo DS i need all the help I can get

Nap when you can and sounds like you have a great DH too!

as for shares in tissues - I feel like buying them in Huggies and Babies Galore (not to mention Bugaboo - they all make a mot-zer)

No I have never taken anything, never really thought to. 1st time round ate very healthy, wanted watermelon, celery, carrots, hot chips(dont normaly eat them) with chicken salt. This time I tried eating the celery and lettuce but after one day thought I couldnt eat anymore. So now I make sure I have a healthy dinner but the rest of the time its just cake, gingernuts, dried apricots(I'm trying), toast so thats probably not helping me with energy levels!!!
As far as naps go, Aaron has one nap during the day and I usually take the time to have a shower, have some lunch and do general things like washing. When DH comes home I sometimes lie down for an hour if we have time and dont have to much to do.
Thanks for the elevit suggestion I may give it a try.
