I remember I bought a (2nd hand) Angel sounds one. I could pick up bub's heart beat from about 10 weeks. Angel sounds dopplers are a little more affordable than others available. I sold mine during my last pregnancy due to learning about the danger of doppler usage.
This one reads of the danger of u/s.... and it's something to do with the continuous pulse that makes doppler even more of a concern.
Let me see if I can find what I read last year...
I knew there were risks too and thats why i will not buy one however i have had (or will by Monday) 4 scans and am not even 10 weeks! i did insist however that the last one not be internal due to my bleeding
I purchased a Doppler a few weeks ago online through a company called Clinical Guard – if you Google it you should find the website.
It was around $300 but I wanted to go with quality, it is also FDA approved and fairly easy to use.
If you do decide to purchase one just don’t go overboard with using it, the information I’ve read advises to limit use to 1-2 minute sessions daily or 2 x 10 minute sessions per week.
I only plan to use mine every couple of weeks for a little reassurance.
