Question 12 weeks, stomach pain/cramps, no bleeding. worried

I am 12 weeks pregnant and have had a lot of stomach pains and cramps today. Occasionally it feels like a contraction type pain. I haven't had any bleeding. Does anyone know what would cause this?, they are pretty painfully. I am so worried something is wrong .

    Thanks for any replies.

Hi yowie, I have had some light cramps thru this pregnancy but nothing intense.

Is it on one side or the other? You would just have to wonder about an ectopic possibly although they r most common btwn 6-11 weeks. If you have already had an u/s so far, then that won't be what this is.

I would try to rest if you can but if it is really painful u probably should get checked by someone.

I hope u and your bubba are ok. Good luck.

Thanks Bella. I had a ultrasound at 7 weeks and baby was in the right place.

Trying to rest, not easy with 3 little ones. And have to tell them every 5 minutes no stop getting on my stomach

Maybe go to the hospital if it doesn't go away.
You could always take 1 or 2 panadol to see if that eases anything.

    Good luck.

it's not bowel cramps it it Yowie?? I agree about a couple of panadol. Might help you to relax, and if 2 panadol is enough to get rid of the pain you know it isn't tooooo bad if that makes sense?? Plus if you go to hospital the first thing they will ask you is if you have had any pain killers and give them to you if you haven't.

Gas or constipation? Gas pains are horrible when your pregnant.

I just laid down for 30 minutes before Dh had to go out. The pain stopped I think I have been overdoing it.

I think around 12 weeks is when the baby starts to move out of the pelvis (so to speak, moving upwards... so Ive been told by midwives) and this can cause some discomfort. With DD2, I had horrible cramps up until about 15 weeks with her. She is now 6 weeks old

Its so hard to relax with other kids to run after.

I'm pretty sure it was around 12 weeks that I started feeling cramps associated with a stretching uterus. They weren't intense pains, but similar to strong period type cramps. Hopefully that's all it is for you.

Oh, and I sympathise about telling little ones to stop jumping on your belly. My 2 1/2 year old DS seems to always get a well timed kick to the belly during nappy changes, and likes to climb and lay across my lap if I sit on the couch. Rest assured that there's lots of padding in there for the little bub

    great news!

It could also be early onset braxton hicks too, with DS they started at 15wks, with DD at 7wks, all because of my irritable uterus. I'm just waiting for them to start this time around too.

=) good to hear all is ok, Its normal to get some cramping at this stage, your uterus is reaching the point where it is big enough to poke up out of your pelvis, and with all the stretching and growing some people get cramps.

    =)

Great news Most of the time when that happened I had to rest.

Around 12 weeks I had the same with spotting and stuff, so I was on rest all easter long weeked (so boring LOL)
