Thumbs up 3D/4D ultrasound in Perth?

    Hi There!!
With DD I wanted to have a 3D/4D ultrasound done but every place wanted a referral from a doctor. Its been 4 yrs since then so I was hoping things have changed and you can just go in and pay for the wonderful experience of seeing your unborn child in 3D/4D.

So is there any where in Perth that will do this?? In my bag from the hospital I got a flyer for one in Rivervale, so I know there is ONE in Perth, but I was hoping there was another NOR!!

    TIA

I had mine done, by referral though, at the clinic in Subi opposite SJOG. Maybe give them a call

There is a place called the The Ultrasound Nursery in Rivervale.
    They do non-diagnostic 3d/4d scans.
It is purely just to see bub.
There are different packages for length of scan, pictures, dvd etc.
    You don't need a referral.
If you google the name it should come up

Tauren - I tried calling that one back with DD and they said you need a referral, but that was 4 yrs ago so it may have changed now?

RainbowBrite - I have a flyer for that one and have seen their website Looks like the place to go!

I wonder how busy these places would be?? I am only 16 weeks but would it be best to call up now and book for a time between 25-32 wks or should I be right to leave it a few months?

Theres also a place in Joondalup called Ultrasound North... not sure if they do packages like the one in Rivervale..

I know that Insight in Midland do them for $150 with pics and a DVD, no referral needed. They recommend doing them at 28 weeks.

Mmmm, we want to go to the one in Rivervale so DD can have a squiz rather than taking her to the very medical diagnostic ones, so I might give them a call tomorrow and let you know what they say

If you have no luck in Rivervale the midland ladies are lovely and I was able to bring my two kids in both times. It's a nice new place too not like the other one in midland!

I emailed them today - they said you can book in any time, if you want a Saturday appointment it's best to book early as they fill up a few weeks in advance. No referral required but you do need to bring a copy of your anomaly scan with you (the one done at 18-20 weeks by a doctor).

Cheers CK!! I guess I will wait a bit longer before booking, still or 10 or so weeks for the best viewing time

I have found another place that does 3D scans in Perth. Its called... First Photo.
They take people from 7 weeks!!! And you can go in for gender from 14 wks.

I tried calling to make an appointment asap, but they only work 2 days a week (sunday & Monday) and the next available was in June so thats a bummer cause it would be the same week as my 20 week scan..

I'd wait anyway if I was you hon. We had 3/4D scans at each of our major scans - 12, 20 and 32 weeks. They are all awesome but the 32 week ones are by far the best. DD looks a bit alien like in the earlier ones but she's a cute chubby bubby (with my nose!) in the 32 week one. We have one of those pics in a small frame it's so cute.

Nope cant wait and going in on MONDAY!! I know bub will be on the skinny side and looking a bit alien but I still want to go
I am planning to go again around 30 weeks to see the difference.

That's cool Irena - I'm booked in there in 2 weeks for my 19 week one, so good to know

Still going to do the other one as I'm not wanting to take DD to the medical one, though my Ob suggested I just bring her along to one of our appointments and he'll give her a quick squiz - might do that too later on.

Had my 3D scan today and even tho bub was 'skinny'it was still soooooooo amazing!!!
So amazing seeing my lil boy moving around. He even looking like he was laughing with us at one stage!
So worth it, I am definitely going back closer to 30wks.
