4 weeks to go and sharp pains in the lower belly/cervix area, what is this?

    Hi ladies,

In the last week or so I've been getting sharp pains down near my hoohaa, feels like it is in my cervix.
It happens alot when I am sitting and even more when I'm walking around.
It comes and goes but when it happens it takes my breath away and sometimes I'm doubled over for a second. This weekend it has been happening almost constantly when I walk and alot more regularly when I'm sitting down.
Has anyone else been experiencing this? I thought maybe it was bubs head but just wanted to find out if anyone knows for sure what it might be?

    Thanks Girls

It does sound like bub is right up against your cervix. Does bub feel very low down now? It may be your cervix is starting to dilate a little too. Keep an eye on the pains and if they seem to be coming regularly, and do not stop when you rest (lying down rather than sitting) then let your midwife know. If not then mention it at your next appointment but don't worry, it all sounds normal (if painful).

Yep certainly sounds like bub is bouncing up and down on your cervix. I had this with DD and it does get very painful - I feel for you. Good news is that all that bouncing should help with the dialation of the cervix. Good luck.

I'm 31 weeks and I've been getting sharp pains across the bottom of my stomach and some pains in my vagina.
Not fun. I know you how feel!
