For the last 2wks my blood pressure is rising and my midwife has done blood tests and doesnt understand why its happening as my bloods are coming back normal
Im just wondering if anyone else has experienced this??
im abit worried, along with rising blood pressure this morning ive vomitted and felt nausea, i have strong pressure in my VJJ and i see little white flickering lines every now and again
Bubs head is down and wondering if it is the head engaging??
Lots of things can cause rising blood pressure - it's not that unusual during pregnancy. Is it "high" or just higher than it was?
Does your midwife know about these other symptoms you've experienced?
You can have some of the signs associated with PE before your bloods start to change. It is a little concerning that your vision is being effected. Did you have PE with your first pregnancy? How high is your BP? Rushing to an appointment or worry will put your BP up. But if your diastolic BP (the lower number) is significantly higher, then it could be something that needs to be closely monitored. If you are worried, i'd call your midwife and talk to her about it.
Marcellus- i was around the 115/60 now its jumped last week to 135/80 anf this week im 130/85 she said its not jumping dramatically but it is still higher then normal, she does know about the other symptoms as i also swell in the ankles/feet if im on my feet all day
i didnt have any blood pressure problems with my first pregnancy until near the end when i went into labour it started rising
Junglemum- im not rushing to appointments i just wait for normal check-ups to ask questions normally today im just worried cause i want answers iykwim?, my midwife did urine tests last week at my normal check-up and it come back with a little bit of protein in it so she ran the urine and BP past a Dr who said she needs to check my blood pressure more often, so she booked me in again today, i went in and as mentioned above its still not normal BP and had blood test again which reads normal again
I too would be ensuring they are aware of the visual changes.
I had rising blood pressure through both my pregnancies. I ended up doing a few stints in the day stay area of maternity in my 1st pregnancy for continuous monitoring. They would take my BP every half hour or so for half a day. Each time it came down to within normal limits. Its possible I had some kind of "white coat syndrome" that put my BP up for my checkups, even though I can honestly say I am not nervous about medical procedures or around doctors. My body tells a different story though!
Re the protein in urine, sorry if this is TMI but no one ever told me to "wipe around" prior to collecting the MSU. They always just gave me a pot and said, "go pee in it" (paraphrase). However, there are traces of protein in CM apparently, so it's important to make sure you're not collecting any of that bizzo along with your wee.
The thing that concerns me about your posts (not that I'm a professional, just IME) is the visual disturbance, so I'd make sure you stress that to the midwife. If it is happening a lot then they should monitor you and baby more regularly.
The fact that it's affecting your vision is ringing alarm bells for me, and the fact there are traces of protein in your urine. It sounds like signs of PE to me. When is your next appt? I'd get checked out asap if I were you.
Snacks- everytime i go to give urine samples im always given a facewasher to wipe first before i pee cause of that reason i think, she said its not alot of urine but its still there a little bit
Jaycee- i had an appointment this morning, i now dont have one until 30th this month which will be a big test for the BP i guess as she is making a home visit so we shall see if it makes a difference
im just worried somethings not right...She is concerned about seeing the white lines flashing/flickering, they keep asking about headaches i did suffer them before but not anymore i just have the white lines, swelling feet/ankles, the BP, i get like period pain down low (midwife says its BH) and ive been getting diareah (spelling?)
have they suggested or made you do the 24hr pee collection test? i had high BP during my PG & was taking meds but at one point they made me to that test. it was a bit of a pain to pee in a bottle for 24hrs but apparently it gives better results (combined with a BT) on proteins etc. one of my friends also had to do it when they were concerned that she had PE - but she stayed in hospital for the 24hrs.
