    Alcohol & 2ww

    Hey ladies,
I posted this in conception too as I wasn't sure where I should post
Just wondering if anyone here abstains from drinking alcohol during the 2ww?
I've got a function tonight and unsure if I should drink.
Are there risks before getting a bfp?
    Thanks

Im not a big drinker but i did have a few wines over christmas, and continued to after my BFP due to bleeding and thinking it was all over.

Moderation is the key and i think one or two with dinner/ friends or cause you have had a rough day are fine, but you need to do what you feel comfortable with. regreting something and living with that feeling is far worse to control

GL and sending you positive vibes

I don't think a couple of drinks in the very early stages of pregnancy is going to do too much harm. Actually I believe that it isn't until the umbilical cord develops (around 6 or 7 weeks from memory) that bubs is affected by what you consume. Good luck with you 2WW !

I went on the "drink until you see pink" philosophy. I'm not a huge drinker but continued to have the odd glass of red wine even throughout my IVF cycle. It's about normalising it all and not getting too hung up on what you can and can't have.

Everything in moderation is fine, you have to do what you feel comfortable with.

I don't think a couple of drinks in very early stages will do much harm, the first few weeks bubs is surviving off the yolk sac before it attaches with the ubilical cord and has access to your blood supply.

I found out I was pregnant after being away on holiday relaxing with more than just couple red wines a few of the nights away & had the major guilts but was reassured by doc that all was ok.

As the others have said moderation is the key and do what you feel comforable with.

I skip the drink when we decided to start TTC'ing and for many many months after, it doesn't bother me to not drink, so for me a few extra weeks of not drinking didn't affect me. But the decision is yours hun Goodluck hope you see a bright BFP soon xxoo

I got a tad drunk at a work function a week before finding out and i had a few beers one night a couple of days before getting my BFP.
