I had too many bunny rugs to the point where DD uses them for her dolls now
Clothes with bulky hoods on them - so uncomfortable for a baby, b/c they lie down most of the time you want stuff like onesies
Plastic nappy bags (to throw out disposible nappies). I just used to walk straight outside to the bin. I still have a heap of them now that I don't use.
TM what a beautiful thread! As you know I am pregnant with my first. Hubby and I both have large families and I suspect we will be besieged with baby things from both sides so we are planning to lay low on the purchasing ourselves as aside from a cot, pram, some clothes for when she is born, a blanket, nappies, I am sure others will provide plenty.
Well we really have to start from scratch again as I didn't think I'd be having another bub until after I finished Uni at least.
But in saying that, I will also be sticking to bare essentials. I'm also going second-hand with a lot of the big stuff this time. For my first I wanted new everything but I guess near-new is just is good in the long run.
Couldn't agree more. I was so stressed with getting DD1's room ready before she arrived - she sleeps with us and her room is used for nappy changes and storage.
I have bought a couple of onesies just for this DD2 but as she is our second summer girl, there really isn't anything we need.
So true. Like Sara I'm starting again, and I have bought 'stuff' but only boring stuff I know I'll use. I'm not even buying a cot or bassinette as DS never slept in his so not going to bother with the struggle. Will just co-sleep.
Rhichichi our baby blankets got fed to the dolls too and I have seriously just finished with the nappy sack stash I got from DD's three babyshowers (two kids and 5.5years ago lol). I use cloth nappies but they substitute well for wetbags.
I have a bit of a mix for this bub - we had to start from scratch as I don't have any of DD's baby stuff left anymore, so we've bought the basics and have a lot of hand-me-downs from SIL and a few others. We're now just sitting back and waiting to see what else we need once he's here...
SO true! With DD2 she was almost here and everyone kept asking me if I had everything and I hadn't bought anything! lol. Just nappies and basics like that. I felt like I was forgetting something vital but all a baby needs is nappies, boobs, clothes and love. I had so much stuff I never used with DD1.
