This is third baby for me but first with anterior placenta. I'm 14 weeks and have barely felt a thing. When I lie on my side I think I've felt little squiggles but not for a week now and I'm starting to stress. Baby is fine though and midwife appt on Saturday showed good heartbeat and growth.
I know anterior placentas make movement harder to feel, so I just wanted to hear when you felt consistent movement with an anterior placenta.
With ds I was feeling constant movt by 14 weeks so this is a weird experience. Dd was my first so it was later at 18 weeks.
I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel movement really until I was into my 20th week from memory. I recall feeling a few flutters around 18 weeks but wasn't sure if it was gas or not. I never experienced huge movement throughout the entire pregnancy. It use to worry me, especially when you hear others talk about their super wiggly babies.
I have had 2 anterior placentas and didn't feel movements with DS1 until 26 weeks and DS2 until 24 weeks.
DS1 was low lying at 20 week scan so needed a re scan at 34 weeks when it confirmed had moved.
I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy and didn't feel anything till 20-21 weeks although in hindsight there were probably very subtle movements at 18-19. It was weird seeing how much baby moved on my 20wk scan yet how little I could feel.
DD- anterior placenta: movement felt from about 12 weeks, regular about 14
DS- didn't have one so felt regular movement early on.
Current pregnancy- anterior placenta: regular movement from about 22weeks, very stressful!
