I know the stress about do I, don't I take certain medications. I haven't taken that one. I was diagnosed with the Swine Flu at 17 weeks and the maternity department wanted me to take Tami Flu which is an antibiotic. When I looked it up on the net it said it hadn't been conclusively studied on pregnant women. Anyhow I took it as they told me it was in my interest and the baby's. I had my scan at 20 weeks and everything seems fine.

I think with the flu, the main thing is to try and control your temperature and breathing. So if you're having problems with these areas then some treatment is probably good. The maternity department told me that the flu doesn't cross the placenta and the baby should cope well with coughing etc. It's only things like high temperature (over 38) and breathing problems which could impact.

If you want more advice on the antibiotic you could double check with the pharmacist (i found some of them to be really helpful, better than GPs on what to take when pregnant) or call your care provider.

oh you poor thing, it is really hard to be sick in pregnancy isn't it? for me personally, i think it depends on your doctor whether or not you believe them. if my doctor told me it was safe then i would believe him coz i trust him, but i know what you mean about sometimes not trusting the doctors. I think it depends on how you feel - there's no point being ridiculously sick when you have been prescribed something that is relatively ok and that will help you feel better. You're out of the first trimester now, so hopefully it should be fine. Hope you feel better son
